In the early 1980s, Bristol’s underground music scene was beginning to take shape — built on sound systems, hip hop, soul, reggae, pirate radio and the energy of independent clubs and community spaces. Out of that moment came Ladies Posse, widely recognised as one of the UK’s first female DJ collectives.
